He Makes All Things New

Dear Changing Seasons Friends,

This is an exciting week all around!  A new year...2012!  I don't know about you, but as much as I hate change, I do appreciate a fresh start.  Thank you for a new year with new possibilities!  I know this can sound cliche, but having a child with special needs puts it in perspective for me.  Each new year is the year I hope and pray John will do ______  (fill in the blank: crawl, walk, talk, feed himself, etc).

Also, I started a blog this week.  It has been a dream of mine for quite some time, and I am thrilled it is up and running as of yesterday.  I would love for you to check it out and sign up for email updates if you feel so inclined:  www.HeMakesAllThingsNew.com  We are so grateful to have this space where we can share what we are learning through both the riches in life and also the great loss we all face and additionally share glimpses of our life and continued prayer requests for John's full healing.

This is a big step for our family, after chronicling our journey and prayer requests for our son John on a Caringbridge site for almost 3 years now.  It is healing to move to a new venue and to simply acknowledge to myself through this transition that we are no longer in daily medical crisis.  When you have experienced chronic crisis of any sort, it is easy to feel stuck in that mode long after the initial trial has past.  I encourage you to do something or plan something or start a new hobby/project/mantra/etc that you can use to remind yourself that you, too, are in a new season this year.

Happy 2012 to you!!
